Electromagnetic locks, otherwise known as a magnetic lock and popularly known by its moniker, the “maglock,” is a locking device that comprises an armature plate and an electromagnet in order to keep your commercial space as secure as it can possibly be. In electromagnetic locks, the part that holds the electromagnet itself is fixed to the door frame, and an armature plate is fixed to the door. When the door closes, these two parts come into contact with each other. With the presence of an electricity supply, the current passing through the electromagnet constitutes a magnetic flow to the mating armature plate, which will then cause the attraction of the plate to the electromagnet. When the two parts attract, this creates a strong locking action.
